Jesus ran that race and it cost him his mortal life, but in His death, entombment, and resurrection Jesus secured the win for Himself and humanity - resurrection and immortality!
Jesus won the race that matters and is now seated at the “right hand of throne of God”. The prize He won was His salvation from death, and return to immortality at the right hand of God the Father. And the good news is that Jesus will share that prize with all humanity in due time!
“As in Adam all die, even so in Christ, all shall be made alive...Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!.” (1 Corinthians 15:22; 51-58)
Relax, we all win our race of mortal life on resurrection day!
