Capital Punishment: God says it as the penalty for sin.
"...sin is the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4)
"ALL have sinned...." (Romans 3:23)
"The wages of sin is DEATH" (Romans 6:23a)
Judgment: Judgment means the judgment of the judge - His decision is death for sinners.
So what happens after death?
"...it is appointed unto humanity once to die, but after this the JUDGMENT." (Hebrews 9:27)
There is also a judgment for humanity after our death. God's judgment (decision) is to make us alive again into a new creation in Christ Jesus.
"...there is about to be a rising again of the dead, both of righteous and unrighteous..." (Acts 24:15)
“...free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)
"For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many..." (Romans 8:29)
“For even as, in Adam, ALL are dying, thus also, in Christ, shall ALL be made alive...that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:22, 28)
"Anyone in Christ is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
This judgment of new life after death is good news (gospel) that should be proclaimed by believers. Here is some more good news...

(Ephesians 2:4-7)
